SUNDAY FEBRUARY 12: John McNeil and Bill McHenry
ANTIDOTE FOR BLUE MONDAY
Russ Freeman is a largely forgotten jazz composer, a pianist who wrote
distinctive, catchy melodies and whose work was played and recorded by
Stan Getz, Chet Baker, Frank Rosolino and a host of others in the 1950's. Every
Sunday night from 8 to 10:30, trumpeter John McNeil and tenor saxophonist Bill
McHenry will be playing these classic tunes, many of which have not been
heard for half a century. John and Bill are joined by Tom Hubbard on bass and
Jochen Rueckert on drums.
